Club Merger

Posted by Kirsty Doyle on 27 September 2016

Dear all

Exciting news.....

Over the last few months Ripley Rangers FC, have been in close talks with Ripley Town FC regarding the possibility of the two clubs becoming one. I am delighted to say that the merger has now been successful, and Ripley Rangers FC is now Ripley Town FC.

The name of the club was an important factor with the heritage this holds in Ripley as a small Town, and it was felt this needed to remain as the clubs name. Our club colours will be red and blue stripes as the home kit with the traditional green of Ripley Town FC as the away kit, a special arrangement has been sought to give the club its own identity where all our teams will be in one uniform. (More to follow on this in the coming weeks)

What does the merger bring to Ripley?

Well the club is now in a strong position where we have children involved from the age of 4 to adult, with teams represented at ages under 7's through to reserves and first team, and of course our ladies team.

This is a massive step towards building strong foundations and keeping football for children and seniors alike in the town for years to come. Our ambition is to have our own home grown talent moving through the age groups and, if not talent spotted first, offer these youngsters a pathway into senior football.

The committee has worked tirelessly over the last year to make and support this merger, and I for one am excited about what the future holds for football in the town.

We continue to work towards our goals in a sustainable approach so Ripley Town is firmly on the map. This merger is long overdue, and we must now embrace and build to become a great club.

We are expanding still and are currently in the position to appoint an academy coach, the role is paramount to the success of our youngest members. You should be enthusiastic and approachable with a good manner with small children. On the other end we are also recruiting for an assistant to the first team.

Both roles should be applied for via email through the website or you can contact me direct on my mobile - 07854329209 or via direct email to

Kind regards
